EPOS Powers-Up Battery Replacement Strategy To Stay Ahead of the Game

EPOS is ’ charging up’ a battery replacement programme, to simplify a more sustainable future. As we advance all new product launches will provide the option to replace batteries with a simple paperclip or similar tool, rather than any complex or complicated procedures.

Søren Holm Printz, VP Corporate Strategy & Product Management, says EPOS is committed to extending the lifespan of its products by offering user-friendly battery replacement solutions across the ANZ region and beyond.

“By enabling customers to easily replace batteries, we help extend the product lifetime and reduce e-waste, supporting a more circular product lifecycle.”

He added: “Battery replaceability is integrated into EPOS product design from the earliest development stages through to after-market support. This includes providing spare batteries and clear, easy-to-follow guides to ensure safe and simple replacement and waste management at product end-of-life. This approach has been a key part of EPOS’ design philosophy for many years.

“Today, most EPOS products feature easily replaceable batteries. While some models require commercially available tools, others support tool-free replacement. Since the introduction of our first replaceable battery model in 2010, EPOS has sold thousands of spare batteries annually, highlighting the value of this feature for our customers.

“In alignment with the EU Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542), EPOS is further simplifying battery replacement in upcoming product launches. New product launches now offer straightforward battery replacement only using just a paperclip or similar tool. Furthermore, updated replacement multi-language guides are available, ensuring a seamless experience for end-users. With these measures, EPOS will be fully compliant with the requirements of the EU Battery Regulation by its effective date, February 18, 2027.”
