Palo Alto Networks Brings SaaS Security Into Cortex Cloud to Tackle Connected Enterprise Risk
Palo
Alto Networks has announced Cortex Cloud SaaS Security, a new capability that
folds SaaS protection into its broader cloud security offering. It brings
posture, identity, data and AI security together across SaaS and cloud
environments. The company says the integrated approach will help enterprises
guard their applications against misconfigurations, AI-related risks and data
exposure as the attack surface expands.
The
launch responds to how enterprises now operate. SaaS applications, cloud
infrastructure, identities and sensitive data are increasingly interlinked, and
AI agents and third-party integrations are deepening those links. This gives
attackers new routes to exploit misconfigurations, excessive permissions and
exposed resources. Security, however, often remains fragmented between SaaS and
cloud. That limits visibility into how individual risks connect and where an
attacker could move next.
Siddharth
Deshpande, Director of Industry Solutions, Asia Pacific and Japan, at Palo Alto
Networks, said, “As enterprises connect AI agents to their business
applications, they also expand access to sensitive data and critical systems.
An excessive permission or misconfiguration in one application can create
exposure across connected environments. Security teams need to understand those
relationships, identify which risks matter most and act quickly. Cortex Cloud
SaaS Security brings SaaS and cloud risks into a unified view, helping
organisations protect sensitive information and accelerate investigation and remediation
through agentic AI workflows.”
The
offering rests on three capabilities. First, it provides visibility across SaaS
and cloud, covering 100 SaaS applications and the data, identities and AI
within them. Second, it links SaaS exposures with data, identity, AI and cloud
risk to map attack paths, so teams can concentrate on the most critical
threats. Third, its integration with Cortex AgentiX speeds up security
investigations and remediation through agentic AI-driven workflows.
Palo
Alto Networks argues that, as SaaS, cloud and AI environments converge,
isolated security assessments no longer give enough context to manage
enterprise risk. Cortex Cloud SaaS Security combines posture, identity, data,
AI and threat security to help organisations understand their connected attack
surface and act on emerging
