Thales Appoints Ankur Kanaglekar As VP India
Thales has appointed
Ankur Kanaglekar as Vice President for India, effective 10 September 2025. Kanaglekar has over 25 years of experience across aerospace, defence and
consulting. He will spearhead Thales’ strategy and operations in India. His
mandate includes scaling up industrial collaboration, accelerating innovation,
and delivering advanced solutions across defence, aerospace and cyber &
digital domains.
Before joining Thales, Kanaglekar spent 14 years at Boeing India, most
recently as Executive Director. He led global co-development and co-production
initiatives for defence platforms, anchored large sales campaigns, and played a
key role in forging partnerships with Indian public and private sector
companies under the Make in India initiative. He earlier worked with PRTM
Management Consulting (now part of PwC), advising Fortune 500 firms on mergers,
acquisitions, operations, and go-to-market strategies.
Pascale Sourisse, President & CEO, Thales International, said the
appointment reflects the group’s focus on strengthening its presence in India.
“With his proven leadership and deep understanding of the Indian market, we aim
to further enhance our support of the country’s self-reliance objectives,
co-develop cutting-edge solutions, and nurture local talent,” Sourisse said.
Kanaglekar said he is honoured to take on the role at a “pivotal time”
for India’s technology and defence landscape. “I look forward to working
closely with partners and teams to accelerate growth, deepen localisation, and
make a meaningful contribution to nation-building,” he said.
